Announce the 2017 Annual Employee Appreciation BBQ Luncheon to be Friday, April 21, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Garth Arena of the Bell County Expo Center.
Consider approval of an Unfunded Mandate Resolution in Support of HJR 73, amending the Texas Constitution to provide that a law enacted by the Texas Legislature on or after January 1, 2018, that requires a city or county to establish, expand, or modify a duty or activity that requires the expenditure of funds is not effective unless the Legislature appropriates funds for the payment or reimbursement of the costs incurred for complying with the requirement. This Constitutional Amendment would end the practice of shifting state responsibilities upon local governments through unfunded and under funded mandates.
Consider approval of a Local Control Resolution in Opposition to HB 15, the House version of SB2, that imposes a “One Size Fits All” solution that takes away Local Control over Local Issues.
